CAN I SPRAY TAN WITH A SUNBURN?

We do not recommend spray tanning if you’ve experienced a sunburn in the past four weeks (even if it’s no longer visible). No, a spray tan won’t “cover up” or “even out” the damage. It will do the opposite! A sunburn is a result of trauma to the skin from UV & UVB rays. This reaction occurs in the outermost layer of the skin- the same layer where DHA, the active tanning ingredient, works hand in hand with your cells to create a browning effect. When those cells are damaged, they will produce an unfavorable result.

Spraying over a sunburn will cause the damaged skin to peel + a patchy, uneven outcome😬 some areas may grab darker.

WHAT DO I DO IF I HAVE A SUNBURN?

  • Drink lots of water

  • Moisturize morning and night

  • Don't peel your skin! Let it heal naturally

  • Protect your skin from further damage (protective clothing, sunscreen)
